Default A few flower closeups - FZ35

Just a few I shot the other day...FZ35 + LC55, cropped and resized only.

#1 I thought these were Lily of the Valley, but I found out they are called Snowflake. I had never seen one until I was at the arboretum. Very dainty and pretty flower...

Yet another fab series, really lovely. My fave is No.5, the compostion and colours are v subtle and work brilliantly against the black background. We call the flowers in the first 2 shots "snow drops". I spied a bunch today, but the wind was against me, so I will try tomorrow. They are not easy to shoot or get in focus, so well done again.

Very nice shots saly.
Clear and sharp.
It is really hard to decide which one is my favorite, but I think it is the geranium.

Cheers,

Stefan

Thanks everyone!

Diane - yes, I was practically laying on the ground to get these shots!

Stefan - good for your to recognize a geranium! This is one of the "true" geraniums. They are just starting bloom. Pretty soon I will have mounds of dark pink flowers in the yard - looking forward to shooting those.

Saly, due to the fact, that I am a Ph.D. in biology, it would be a shame for me not to recognize a geranium ;-)

You are lucky, that the flowers starts to bloom, I have to wait some more weeks.

3 & 5 are the best of this series. Nicely done. Your Lily-of-the-Valley and Snowflake are blown out in the highlights.

Ah yes, I see - the white petals have no detail? I need to work on better exposure.

Is this one better? Can you tell me how I could improve? Thanks!!
