I set the camera to AF Tracking. I have found that if I use less than 8x zoom (and this is the limit) that I start to see the black corners of the adapter in each corner. Once you zoom right down low, the camera automatically reminds you that you have changed to "conversion lens close up".

Hope this helps - Dyane

Was this with the camera set to auto focus or auto focus macro?

Thanks again for coming to the rescue Sarah, but yes I thought I did select close-up option in the lens accessory menu, to be honest it was only after putting on my glasses that I realised that one setting was for telephoto and the other for close-up lens. But will re-check this out over the weekend.

But would the settings (in the lens accessory menu) be specific to Panasonic's own close-up lens and teleconverter?

While we are talking close-up / macro settings, would not turning off the stabiliser give rise to slightly soft images when using a tripod and auto focus?

Thanks again for your replies, Sarah

Had you used the menu system to advise the camera that an accessory lens was in use? When that is used, the camera responds by not allowing the lens to retract to a point where vignetting takes plave.

At the moment I am thinking about the Marumi DHG Achromat +5 instead the Raynox as a complement to the LC55.

Stefan, I'll be really interested to hear (and see ) how the Marumi Achromat works out. I assume you'll get the 55mm?

Nice job Diane, this is a good informative series, and they are also excellent sharp images.
