I think you did pretty well, considering. I know how hard it is to track using the LT55! Your shots would have been much better if the birds were positioned better (#2 would have been nice if he faced you), but you can't tell them to do that! But generally the quality of the images are good, so keep trying!

For an FZ35 P & S those are not bad.

One thing to know about birds is they can sense when eyes are looking at them. Some fanatical birders actually wear a see through veil over their face to hide their eyes.

Sometimes its quite hard to photograph even the common birds in the quite woods when you stop to shoot them.

Keep going take lots of pictures no film expense here.

Jim – I think they turned out not bad at all, must be a really hard shot. I know I have never had much luck with birds in flight. #1 and #3 or my picks. That Black Ibis is a neat looking bird.

Good work, particularly 1,3,5. I too have observed that the moment you lift your hands to aim and click, they sense it as some harm is being done and quickly shift position. It requires a lot of patience to wait and shoot birds.

The wild ass falls in the family of ‘equide’ which includes Horses, Zebras and donkeys.
