Default FZ100 bird

I captured this nice chap early in the year while in Jamaica. I'm sure someone will be able to tell me the variety.
Taken using burst mode.
1/500s
f5.2
108mm.

I am really pleased with this camera even though some people seem to have something against it.

Talyllyn,

nice shot, it could be a juvenile Amazona collaria, but I am not sure.

Cheers,

Stefan

Hi,
Thanks for the comments.

There were two of these in the tree, both looked the same to me but I'm sure they knew if they were Mr & Mrs.
It was quite windy and the branches were moving about a lot so I was very pleased to get a decent shot.

Cheers

Tallyllyn -
The bird is an Olive-throated Parakeet - it is classified as common and widespread. It is also an endemic (only found in Jamaica). There are four species of parrot in Jamaica - the parakeet is a type of parrot. Lovely bird. Only reason I could ID is I have been studying the field guide because I'm going to Jamaica next week for birding and nature - the Eastern part of the island.
Great photo - hope my photos with FZ35 turn out as well.
