I went from the FZ35 to the Sony A55. Has an APS--C sensor, does excellent in low light, swivel LCD, good at higher ISO's.

why didn't decide you for a FZ40/45 as a successor for the FZ35?

JonnyJ – If you loved the FZ35 why not just get another one. Vann’s has them for 217.88 with free shipping.

i loved the fz35, thought i should go with a newer model with some new features. does anyone think i should go with the fz40 or 100 over the 35?

Quick suggestion on posting pics....downsize them a tad using your favorite PP software, then we won't have to scroll to see them!!

There really is no compelling reason to upgrade. I'm with jjdog2, just get another FZ-35. The added pixel count of the FZ-40/45 and FZ-100 with the same size sensor may yield image quality that disappoints you, not to mention it's just a dang fine camera for a shade over 200 bucks right now!!

My .02,

Resized photos,

Thanks for the advise. the fz35 for 219 does seem like a great price.

Welcome JONNY-

We're pleased that dropped by the Panasonic P+S Folder today. As you can see we are a very friendly and helpful group who love our FZ cameras. We would be delighted to have you join our group.

It is just a personal opinion, but considering that the FZ35 will use a generic or third party battery, and its current very low price, and the fact that the FZ40 must use Panasonic brand batteries, that are measurably more expensive, the FZ35 is the most cost effective choice. Unless, you absolutely need that extra 6X of optical zoom.

All the best,

Sarah Joyce
