Default get rid of guidelines? (fz35)

Hi,
I have guidelines on my lcd which I can't get rid of. I confirmed the guidelines should be 'off' in the tools menu, plus I am not shooting in scenery-architecture mode.
Any ideas?

G'day Debi

stumprat ^ is on the button !!! ~ the display button meanders thru a series of display options & the guidelines are one of them

ps: another one that often gets beginners is the dioptre adjustment dial next to the viewfinder ... a 'friend' plays with it sending it to the short-sight end or the long-sight end making your eyesight seem all blurry
Some users think the camera's autofocus is broken ....

Regards, Phil
