Default Goose

Just a couple of shots from last weekend. I really need to find some new subjects, the whole duck/geese thing is done, I think. Both taken with digital zoom so the clarity could be a little better. No teleconverter yet.

Craig, both pics are nice. To correct your understanding, digital zoom does not improve clarity. In fact, it is useless. If you need more zoom, go for reduced megapixel size - for example, if you can go up to 18X with 12MP, you can go up to almost double that zoom by setting the megapixel at 3MP. Check the manual - you will have more accurate info there. Another thing to note is that the more you zoom, it is better to use a tripod or such stability device.

Craig - I'm surprised your results are this good with digital zoom. Typically DZ is awful and used as a last resort of something really far.

Well blow me down with a feather - those are super fine shots. The clarity is amazing, especially the first one where you can see all the water drops on Goosey - well done I say.

Never can have too many duck/geese shots. Really like the B&W.

Im surprised also with results with the digital zoom, very clear and sharp. The b/w is my fave.
