I like #2 a lot. When you say fast shutter, how fast was it?

You get awesome ones in around 1/800 to 1/1300. Keep the flash open.

For a li'l low res but better 'spur of the moment luck' use the flash burst mode. If I'm not mistaken, shot two is a flash burst picture
