Thanks so much geoper and Bob!

My settings were nothing exotic:
P Mode
ISO 100
EV -0.33

Used LC-55 closeup lens. Moved around the flower until light was giving me the richest colors. That's it!

Square one - I really don't know why your shot looks grainy. You used ISO 80, so that should have helped. I just don't know enough about photography to help.... However, did a quick search on the web and found this. Interesting information here:

There are lots of information online, but couldn't pinpoint your problem. I'm wondering if it is because of your white subject. White does strange things to your camera exposure.....
