Default Braga - Portugal

Hi all

Yesterday was a day off and I decided to get my lazy bottom of the chair and went for a photographical walk through the city center.

It was late afternoon with a strong and warm sun, getting warm colors too

In an ecological policy and energy saving, the fountains were off.
is greener, but has less visual impact

Some random shots around the city

Two symbols of the city.

The cathedral church and municipal soccer stadium in the city.

The stadium is an incredible piece of engineering and was considered one of the most beautiful in the world and received two awards for architecture

Now its hard to take photos of the stadium because there are lots of trees bloking the view
if you are curious, you can search Google Images: "Estádio Municipal Braga" and you can see lots of images

Rui, there are some really beautiful shots here. I have so many favorites, so I won't list them all. The various cathedral shots are very nice. Also some great use of perspective lines of the city scape. The arch shot is nice, as well as the sunset reflecting off the hotel.

Some of them seem a bit over-exposed, but that is hard to handle on sunny days. Also, some of your shots are not level (left side is lower than right) which can fixed by rotating and cropping.

Nice job!

Thanks saly

On that light condition of really bright sun of the afternoon it's a challange to find the best compromise between shadow and light to get the best exposure. I'm trying to improve

I can't agree more that some of my photos are not leveled (well, more than should be). As I usually don't do PP, I have to be more carefull when getting them.

I usually only do some PP to amuse myself
The arch and the cathedral photos are HDR imagens made from 3 bracketed photos.

Only one cathedral photo, the others are from differente churches we have lots of churches here in Braga

Really great series there. Like the town center shot with the reflections in the fountain and the building with the setting sun - nicely capture. I bet you were pleased you went out and about.

Good series, and some good use of HDR.

Did you try and HDR the first shot?

I dont have bracketed photos to try HDR effect, moving people may cause some ghosting. But I can try with single photo... I will try it and post the result
