Default FZ40 Night and Dawn Shots

I'm loving using the FZ40 with some longer exposure times.

15 second exposure at dawn; he is swinging burning steel wool out in the bay:

This one is the Brisbane casino building, taken at about 5:30 AM when the streets were empty. I was amazed at the level of detail captured:

City Hall at dawn:

And a band playing at an Easter music festival:

Fantastic series Mick

#1 is really good, with great colors... and the exposure on the City Hall is perfect with great detail.

I also like to take pictures at night or at dawn using slow shutter ... just annoys me is the camera takes so long to save the picture as to take it. Last time I shot that kind of photos, I used 50s and 60s shutter speed... and had to wait more 50s or 60s to see the result and to take another shot

Wow Mick, beautiful shots! I love #2 and #3 (casino and city hall). Did you HDR, or just great exposure? #1 is very artistic, #4 unfortunately is too small... Really nicely done!

Rui, thanks and agreed that it's a pain waiting. I did some 60 second shots last week too.

Saly, no hdr, just a long exposure in manual mode. Had to try to get a time when the traffic lights didn't change. They link through to flickr - can be viewed larger there.

Cheers Craig - definitely a different experience being out in the city when nobody's around - much more flexibility for longer exposures.

There's a 5:30 in the morning?

Great shots of the casino and city hall.
