Default Spring is officially here - the Orioles are back

I know spring "technically" starts on March 21st. However, living in MI that don't mean squat. I don't consider spring here until the Orioles come back. They come back here pretty reliably, too. They always show up around May 6th. Here are some shots I took of this Baltimore Oriole today. I was going to get some shots this morning, but I had enough juice in my camera battery to turn it on, adjust some settings in the quick menu and that was it. We also get Orchard Orioles, but they aren't as common as the Baltimores. They also love grape jelly.

Nice ones. In Ohio it's the Hummers return that I look forward to. Had my first 3 days ago.

Great shots. Our Hooded Oriole on the west coast are just starting to show up also. They are very shy around here and don't come to the oranges I put out
