Default Going off the trail

For some reason I decided to go off the trail and hike trough the woods to connect to another trail. Unfortunately, I got stuck in some thickets when a big bird landed in a tree.

Fortunately, I had my camera handy and snapped these shots. It turned around and looked right at me. An out of this world experience. After a tick check, I headed back to the original trail.

It reminded me of the movie Predator because the owl was camouflaged to my eye but not the camera lens. Then its slowly started staring at me in a calm fashion.

The video came out nice.

Chris, what an awesome experience! I would absolutely go insane with joy! That last shot is amazing, what haunting eyes he has! Been to CT a few times and I know it's a beautiful, green state. Congratulations, I guess we should all try the road less traveled some time.

Thanks for the kind comments.

My heart was thumping.

Watching the filming of Life and Planet Earth has been an inspiration.

Realize I pack a knapsack full of survival gear on my hikes though. You can run into surprises in the woods even in the small state of CT.
