Default Fz-100 A little better

Well I seem to be getting a little better pictures. These were taken today very overcast and about 40 degrees. Through a window, ISO 100 F3.5 optical zoom all the way extended and on tripod with 2 sec timer. Suggestions always welcome. I really have thought about puttinng this camera in a closet somewhere I discovered that I had the Jpeg megapixel turned down to 9.5 megs so I turned it up to 12 meg it seems sharper and not so blotchy.

Popellis,

I don't think these are bad at all for being overcast and full optical zoom. ISO was at a good level. The detail on the object in the first one is not bad at all. Goldfinch are a hard bird to get great feather detail on. If the sun was out and this side of the bird was lit up you would have got better results. The closer you can get the better when taking shots of birds.

I like the bird.
I know if I tried to get a shot of any bird it would be long gone with a 2 second delay!

Cheers

The bird s were about 17' away I'm not sure they would let me get any closer.

Thank you for the compliments. I hope to get better at this camera I really would like it to work for me.

I took some pictures tonight at a graduation ceremony with the FZ100 and a Bower SFD9260 external flash. full zoom ,800 ISO ,hand held approximately 40 to 50 feet away from the stage and I was happy with the results. Not all the pictures were good ( I didn't hold camera still enough) but alot of them were. Next Time I would take a monopod. It was a long time to hold up a camera.
