Can you hear yourself think? They're really hard to get a good shot of head on aren't they ... Like the detail in the wings.

Well we have plenty to spare if you'd like some.

Yes, Bernice, the noise is sometimes a bit much when you're outside. There are so many around right now that when I walk outside at work they literally fly in from nowhere and land on you. BTW, I have a niece who lives in Armidale, bet it's nice and cold there right now.

Oooooh excellent! What strange eyes they have! I hear them in my neighborhood but have not yet seen one. I actually like #2, the bug colors against the green looks nice.

"bug eyes" takes on a real meaning with them! I've never seen this bug, but have heard about them, so glad to see them close up in fantastic photos! The coloring & crispness of your images are wonderful!

Nice cicada shots - a very familiar creature to me, although I've never seen quite that colour combination.
