Default FZ1 lens protection

Just bought an FZ1. Wonderful camera. I am concerned about protecting the lens. Does it work to leave on the lens adapter and an mc protector all the time?

I keep the adpater and a 55mm uv filter on at all times.

Yes; and the supplied string is long enough.

There is something else to look out for. The threads in the filter end of the adpapter are recessed about 1mm. This can interfere with secure filter attachment particularly if the filter threads are shallow as on the tcon17. It is a good idea to remove the excess plastic with sandpaper to insure a secure connection. This will not effect the attachement of the sunshade. The sunshade can even be attached with the uv filter on.
