Default FZ35 - first try at a bee shot

The bee activity is getting off to a slow start here, but I found a place today with some activity.

Here is my first try. This is A mode, AF Macro, Area-1 focus, Area-exposure. I made many shots, but most were not in focus. I had the camera about three inches from the subject. Yes, this image is cropped (probably about 50%).

Maybe a close-up lens is in order ...

That is a great shot. No need for a close up lens if you are happy with this.
I am having a hard time finding bees...usually they are around here, CA, year round at least where flowers are. These days I see few.

Beautiful! No need for a close-up lens with quality like this!

Great shot Roger!

Something else you might play with:

P Mode
Macro Zoom
Spot Focus
Zoom 2X - I think this is the sweet spot with Macro Zoom
Try different exposure setting
