That is a Rufuos.
The males have the bright red throat and tail feathers. They fan their tail feathers and neck feathers at the females to appear even more bright and attractive.
My photo does not show the vivid red throat they often exhibit. The resized pic I posted does not do him or the original photo justice.
I ambushed him for at least two hours waiting to get some shots. I was pleased with the photos as I am just starting to get a handle on this camera. Most of my shots are still poor due to lack of skill and knowledge but I'm learning(thanks to all here).
I love Saly's hummer in flight photo. My goal is to take a shot like that!

Great shot Rokky! I like the detail, the colors and DOF.

Are you sure? It looks like a Rufous Hummingbird to me. Here's Cornell's page on the Rufous:

http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/r...hummingbird/id

It could also be an Allen's.

I don't know what state (or country?) you're in but Rufous appear as far north and east as Maine, even though the Cornell map shows the species as predominantly western.

Great shot nonetheless!

It is a nice shot of a Rufous or Allen's, great color. It would be interesting to include all of the metal art into the composition.

My wife set me straight as well. That should be a Rufous hummer which are commonly found in this area.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Rokky,

With Hummer, if this is a crop I would love to see the whole image.
