Sorry guys, but now I shot for you stamen and pistils of real HIBISCUS, obviously the most magnification images are with LC55

Really great series, 2&3 are my faves - great depth of field, colour and sharpness - really well done. Look forward to seeing more posts from you.

I hope I'm not hijacking your thread, ... These are some great shots, ones like I hope to achieve on day.

I did my own shooting today with stamen and pistils. I found some nice lilies, and was intrigued by the stamen and pistil. In this case, they are significantly different. The lilyl shots I posted a couple of days ago, both were very much the same, except length. In these lilies, the length is the same, but the end configuration is much different. The pistil has a sticky substance on the tip to attract pollen from the bee passing to the stamen.

I tried several things, and finally was able to capture the pistil pretty well. My content is not nearly as interesting as yours.

For reference, camera is FZ35. I used Spot focus to get these, hand held. I had many discards, however. Obviously, I was not able to hold the camera steady enough. The day was dark overcast, so the light was not as bright as it might have been another time. I was in P mode, and it was using f2.8, 1/30 or 1/60th. I should have upped the ISO, in an attempt to get a smaller aperture for better DOF. I did use Area-1 focus for the more open shots, such as the first one.

These are shot without any added lenses, nor were they cropped much (if at all).

@Jeff: your shots considering no close up lens and handhold are beatiful! Good job

catalex, nice series, I really like 3 and 4. Like the fuzzy things on the end.
