Very good shots. I'm looking for a new camera. I Think FZ40 is a good choice.

@Andy1m, welcome to the forum

If you don't need to extra zoom of the FZ40/45 (24 x zoom) then you might like the FZ35/38 it has a shorter zoom x 18 but has slightly better image quality, might be hard to find now as it was discontinued about 10 months ago.

FZ40/45 is a good camera, it likes plenty of light to get pictures that 'pop', but can capture great night time pictures as well after experimenting with exposure times.

Welcome to our paradise, Andy1m. Thanks for your comment.

@Square one, Thanks for sharing your experiences. I do not have much experiences on FZ35/38.

I love #4! All are great shots, however!

Great shots Jeff, especially for hand-held. Well done.

Thanks Craig, greatly appreciate it. I've been shooting all macro images with FZ40 by hand-held. One of these days practice with tripod or mono pod. I notice that some objects are real small, I must use tri/monopod. No choice.
