Default FZ35 - finally, a bee shot!

After struggling the past few days to get a reasonable shot, I finally landed one today. Actually, I had several, but I am just sharing two of them here. The bees were on a Zinnia flower. Further attempts to get shots off a cone flower were not successful. I'm concluding the small points of the cone make the focus gods crazy inside the camera.

Pretty simple: P mode, AF Macro focus, AutoWB, AutoISO, Area-1 focus, center-weight exposure, Picture: sharpness 2, contrast 2, saturation 1, noise reduction -2. These were with a bare camera (LC55 at home in the box), and cropped out about half of the image.

I also got some Fritillaria butterfly shots, but nothing very special. But, I need to learn to use the FZ35 for butterflies because soon they will be in abundance.

roger53,

I think what you have here is a fly.

Bees have antennae, just sayin.

Hi gordymohr,

At first I didn't even notice the antennae until you mentioned. I think that roger's bee is generally known as a fly bee (different species of bees).

@roger:
I hope you wouldn't mind if I post some pics here that's the same as your bee (without antennae) and a different species (with antennae). Please view...Regards, Jeff
