Hi Beli, nice looking flowers you have there. I know what you mean about the heat; have had a heat index of 105-110 for the last 5 days in Ohio. Not much fun to shot in that kind of heat.

Like the #1. Is that the sunlight that is lighting the smoke trail?

When it's too hot i like to take advantage of the heat to shot 'surreal' images, because the hot surfaces like asphalt and some dark roofs and walls, produces effects like heat distortion and reflection due a thin layer of hot air. Reflection is more likely to happen right after noon, but distortion is present almost the entire day in different magnitudes.

When it's cold i like to take pictures of chimneys and fireplaces also.

Also, when it's very hot, even ground or sand surfaces produce reflection, so it's possible to take pictures of "floating" islands (mountains), etc.

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Everyone!

Electrolyte, yes that is the sun reflecting off the clouds. As far as using heat to your advantage I agree, however, I cannot stay out long in the heat like what we had this past week/weekend longer than 5-10-15 maybe tops 1/2 hour without getting heat sick. My body is very sensitive to heat unfortunately.

Thunderbirds are suppose to be back next weekend.. so I may head down and see what kind of Pics I can get.. Oshkosh's Air show is this week, but I won't be able to get up there I don't there I don't think.
