Default Black Background

Experimenting with faster shutter speeds in early morning light to get a black background. Thinking of making some pics for desktop backgrounds.

Good work with black background, #1 and #2(B&W) are the best!

That's pretty interesting...can you please give us some detail as to how you configured your camera (i.e. spot metering, etc)? Cheers.

Good experiments Craig, good exposure of the subjects

#1, the hibiscus, works well. The plant looks in better condition then mine

Job well done I'd say - No.2 the shot of the mailbox is my fave - a gorgeous shot.

Thanks everyone.
Settings were - Spot metering
Auto white balance
Shutter priority mode
Flower was 1/320th sec
Mailbox 1/250th sec originally shot in color, desaturated in Photoshop.

Nice shots - you might also try some fill flash at -2 to get a much faster shot, and a correspondingly much blacker background.
