aliens among us. The first ever mantis Ive photographed.


the biggest fly Ive ever seen


wasp or hornet in a pile of feathers


and of course, my favourite subject

Excelent sharpness! What is your camera and add-on lens? Tripod or hand held? I suppose macro-zoom mode? What kind of post prossessing, if any?

Good series gordy

Do you know what type of fly that is, Is it just found in your local area ? Never seen or heard of flies that large before

kibaris, its the FZ35 with LC55 mostly on tripod in macro mode, a bit of sharpening and color tweaking in LR3

Square one, of course the image is bigger than real life but Id say it was at least 1 1/2in long. Maybe some kind of horsefly? I wouldnt want to get bit by that!

Wow what a series, the clarity and colours are excellent. Love the hornet in the feathers, great textures and colour contrasts wih the yellow and grey.
