Default Panasonic have ceased production of the FZ1 and FZ2

I went to buy a FZ2 from my local dealer and he said panasonic have ceased production is this true?.[/img]

I can only speak for the U.S. market. Here, we are still selling it. Existing inventory is filling orders and as of this morning it's an "official" product!

I certainly hope there are no plans to discontinue the fz1/2. I tell people all the time what a wonderful, affordable camera it is. Panasonic would be making a serious mistake if they were to cease production.

What's the diff between FZ1 and FZ2? Can't find any specs on FZ2!

Fz2 has manuals controls.

Only there are firmware diferents....

You can upgrade the Fz1 into a FZ2 whit the apropiate update kit

Manual aperture and shutter priorities.
Lower compression.
Numeric zoom indication.
White balance adjustment.
Real time viewing after shutter button half-press.

www.ukdigital.co.uk is selling the FZ2 for 149 and the LC33 for 139 they are going fast.

I can't find any Panasonic digital camera products listed on that site and there doesn't appear to be a way to search the entire site for them. Their drop down menu of manufacturers doesn't list Panasonic.

Can you provide a direct link to both of these items?
