JayC - Thank you!! I was simply in my favorite P mode, ISO 80, WB set to "cloudy" to bring out a bit more yellow, center meter and pointed at the lightest part of the sky to bring out the deep colors (I think this is key; point to the light area, depress shutter halfway to set exposure and re-compose your shot), point focus. As always, I'm too lazy to bring out the tripod, so I set the camera on my fence. I have tried the "Sunset" scenery mode but never had any luck with that. Oh yes, and as always, I took about 20 shots and got a few I liked.
