Default Attaching Conversion Lens to FZ150

This all you need to attach ANY 55mm Conversion Lens onto FZ150...
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/...c_DMW_LA5_DMW_LA5_Conversion_Lens_Adapter.html
If you go with a larger Teleconverter (Nikon TC-E17ED) on Close Up Lens (Canon 58mm 500D Close Up lens) you will require a Step-Up Adapter Ring
If you go with a smaller Teleconverter (Nikon TC-E15ED) then you will require a Step-Down Adapter Ring...
Step-Up and Step-Down Adapter Rings are available here:
http://www.2filter.com/prices/products/rings.html
http://www.bowerusa.com/catalog.php?item=129|145
http://www.bowerusa.com/catalog.php?item=129|144
Amazon has great sets of Step Up/Down Rings that will guarantee you getting where you need to go for sure...

http://www.amazon.com/...-77-72mm-72-67mm-67-62mm/dp/B001G45VTE/ref=pd_cp_p_3
Here's some photos with TC-E17ED attached utilising LA5 Adapter and a 55 to 60mm Step Up Adapter (B+W 60E1-55EA) and also a Canon 500D 58mm Close up lens attached to an LA5 with Fotodiox 55-58mm Step up Adapter...

Thanks LTZ for this post - it got me thinking (could be dangerous).

I have FZ35 - and still haven't taken the step-up to use the manual settings on the camera. Its like I'm frozen to take this step up. I really enjoy the camera and my photos. That gives an idea of my skills.

I'm taking a birding/nature trip in 3 weeks to a remote area of Panama and was thinking to get the FZ150 for better zoom, but then saw your post and thought perhaps get the a conversion lens to be able to take better bird pictures from a distance. I'm thinking to get a whole new camera right before the trip might not be a good idea - stick with the camera I know for now.

If I would get a telephoto lens set-up for the FZ35 would it be interchangeable with an FZ150?

If I get the telephoto set up will it be easy to use, i.e. can I still use my IA setting and just zoom in and out on the bird? Or will there be a big learning curve?

Finally, could you recommend the lens I will need. From your post I understand I will need a conversion lens adapter and step-up/down ring(s).
There are probably lots of different lens' - I would need one good quality, not extremely costly.

I hope I've written this clearly enough - I'm sort of confused myself - result of not knowing what I'm doing. I guess I need baby-talk explanation.

Thanks so much for your ideas -much appreciated.

Hi Evelyn. I have an FZ35 and an FZ150, and have used an Olympus TCON-17 on both with good results. There are several TCON-17 lens models out there, if you can find one it must be the one with the 55mm threads to connect to the adapter tube. They no longer make it so it might be hard to find. It looks just like the Panasonic one but, at least when I got it, was a hundred dollars cheaper.

That adapter tube is 55mm at the lens end, and the Canon teleconverter is 58mm threading, so they will work, but a step-up 55mm-58mm ring will be needed.

Default FZ-40 and a TCON-17

While we're on the subject here, I have an FZ-40 and a TCON-17.. what do I need to adapt the TCON to this camera? I bought the TCON for my Fuji HS-20, but might as well give it a try on this camera, too.
Thanks-
Wes

Thanks every much for the link! A lot of info there. I ordered an adaptor from B&H photo. Now I'll have the capability of using my TCON-17 on either my FZ-40 or HS-20.
