Default Fz150

Hi i am new and hope this answer i am looking for has not been recently asked,anyway i am thinking of getting a FZ150 mainly for wildlife still and video footage what i want to know is The panasonic FZ150 has a24x optical zoom plus 1.3 times inteligent zoom and Extra optical Zoom, i need to know if i get a DMW-LT55 1.7X Times extender lens will the inteligent zoom and Extra optical functions work with the extender on, the optical with 1.3 intelligent plus the extenders 1.7x would give one heck of a zoom for wildlife.Thanks for any help

Take a look at LTZ470's post about 12 threads below titled Attaching Conversion Lens to FZ150. There's a lot of information in that thread. If not, he is one of the most knowledgeable person with the FZ line, so I'm sure he'll help you if you just send him a message directly.

In the menu there is a setting for converter lens. If you select the close up or tele option it adjusts the zoom range so you will not get any vignetting (corners cut off the picture), but it also disables the flash from firing.

If you don't select the converter option, you will probably get the intelligent zoom, just check your not getting vignetting in you images.

You shouldn't see vignetting - that comes from too wide an angle, not too narrow.

The camera is not "aware" of the teleconverter, so all other options are still available.

Thanks so what you are saying if i get the tele convertor i can get equivalent to 1326mm in 35mm terms using the inteligent zooms 1.3x

Just remember-- at that kind of a range, you'll need a solid tripod to shoot off of to prevent image blur.

Well i received the convertor today and can confirm the extra 1.3 i zoom works on top as well,testing out of our living room across the road gives a fantasic zoom and its much cleaner than what i get from my GH2s ETC function.
