Default Supanova 2011

Daylight shots this time! Supanova is a popular culture festival - lots of people seem to get dressed up for it.

These look like television and movie characters? Very clever and elaborate (some people have too much time on their hands....)

We have something called Comic Con where people get dressed up in their favorite comic characters and gather for a convention. And these are grownups, mostly.

Thanks S1 and saly; this is the closest thing we have to Comic Con - I don't know too many characters, never been into comics or sci-fi, but I took my son and his friend and they loved it.

The Daft Punk guys were very cool - they had a stereo blasting out the tunes and it was playing Robot Rock while they were dancing the the Cyberman. Nice touch

I thought you only came out a night, something about the sunlight.

Looks like a fun time and I like the B&W the best.

A Flickr search for "cosplay" will bring up thousands of hits from similar events all over the world!
Both my (grown up) daughters enjoy taking part in these events and spend hours making costumes. There was a big one in London (MCM Expo) at the end of October that held the Euro Cosplay Championship.

Talyllyn, I'd never heard of Cosplay prior to this event, but they had the Australian national champtionships there - quite a few amazing costumes.
