Roger, I think you didn't get my point. The mushrooms look like the big umbrellas found on seaside resorts, so I modified the picture to look like that. You may even see that I had captioned it Ant Resort. Just some creative fun!
Since they any way grow on dead wood, I don't see why they will not grow on a deadwood by the seaside!
Your mushrooms look chocolate topped!

Raghu, you are exactly right! I am far too pragmatic to have tuned into your idea of umbrellas by the seashore. My mind was too focused on "mushrooms grow on deadwood in moist, shady settings." Often, I have a hard time thinking outside the box.

Yes, I agree with the chocolate assessment. I didn't think of that when shooting the pics, but when I saw them up on the screen, the chocolate perception was quick to mind. They look like cookies that have had chocolate dripped across the top. I suspect that if tightly cropped, we would have a hard time to distinguish between the mushroom and an actual cookie, topped with chocolate.

So much interesting stuff out in nature ...

I like your seaside fungi. Now if you could place a nice Butterfly on top.
