Just a few hours left in 2011 here. I want to wish everyone a very happy new year and looking forward to another year full of wonderful images.

Terrific thread, jj! I want to congratulate everyone for their fantastic "favorites", each and everyone has been really impressive.

My final post of the year. See you all next year!

Saly, you ended the thread successively. It's one of the best DOF I've seen.

Thanks NileLily, this was actually shot with my GF1 but one of my all-time favorites. The DOF is partly due to some foliage in the foreground that gave it a nice fuzzy look.

Happy New Year to you and your family!

a few of my favorites for different reasons, hence there being 4 shots.
the rattle snake (shot through glass) was taken with no additional lens, tho i did set to macro. the handsome young chap is my son Harvey taken in an unlit room with flash, then removed the background a little with PS. the fish just wanted to be photgraphed and the green snake (sadly also through glass) really caught my eye on a day trip to the zoo. hope you like them, i had fun in 2011 taking them and look forward to many more trips and snaps in 2012. happy new year one and all!

best regards
john
