jjdog, ... your comment to my post is exactly right. I got the camera about a year ago, tried to get going in the early part of the year, but had troubles. Yes, I was ready to put it back in the box. In hindsight, my problems were primarily related to focus settings and techniques. After I got on the right track, I was having much better success, and then achieved more success with more use. It was a matter of proper settings for the subject, distances, movement, etc.

I see nobody really chimed in with an answer to my question, "What do you do with your photographs?" I left a list of tasks I did to share my efforts with others. The gifts have nearly all been made, and the response was interesting. I can see the time/cost to get prints nicely framed was a waste. While we thought them to be striking, the recipients were lukewarm to them (really disappointed). In most cases, the calendars of butterfly, bee, iris, daffodils, lilies, turkey, deer, etc, was well received. Most people receiving note cards were pleased, although several did not realize the images were mine. The three Blurb books were very well received. But, in these cases, the recipients were getting photos of their gardens, something they had never done. So, it was personal to them.

I'm not sure of the next step. I've investigated a different sharing and hosting site for 2012 work. I've looked at Zenfolio and Smugmug. Does anybody have thoughts or experiences with these sites, pro or con? Zenfolio has a direct connection to Mpix for making above-average prints.
I hardly ever have any prints made, just a few times when friends ask me to take some shots of there pets.

Thx JJ for creating this thread !!

Hi everyone !! I'm Pinkesh frm Suart, India !!

Year 2011 is really great for me in terms of learning lots of new things !! Doing photography since 2008 & got my FZ 35 in 2010 !! Though I was just capturing pics w/o knowing any kind of basic knowledge of photography !! In 2011 a photography group started in our city & I attended a basic photography course & learned Rule of 1/3 & then seen a dramatically change in my photography !! Had lots of tour this year n captured many good pics !! Only worst thing happened that my FZ went 2 service center for 2-3 months & had 2 use Canon SX 30 for 2-3 months !! (Can I post pics captured by other camera in this thread ?? )

Hope u all will like my pics !!
