This photo surely should go on the "Best of " list - not just 2011, but goodness for just ages. Very, very special photo for me. The expression on his face, the composition, the detail of his coat - just the whole thing is jaw dropping! Title also nails it.
I would like to know how far away you were, use a tripod, how did you see him?
From the photo I feel like I could reach out and help him with the berries.

Thanks for the very nice comment. About 35-40' handheld, the light was perfect for this shot.

JJ; that is simply amazing. The expression is absolutely priceless, and your caption certainly expresses what the deer is thinking!

Needless to say, the composition, background, everything is perfect for this once in a lifetime shot!
