Default Cedar Falls

Cedar Falls is my favorite waterfalls in the Hocking Hills region of Ohio. Taken New Years Day.

Very nice, serene, cool scene JJ. Will make a very good wallpaper/background.
For my taste, I would have kept the same lighting for the rocks but lesser time for the water.

JJ; that shot is so impressive that it could be on a calendar, or in a book! It's absolutely awesome! I'm so jealous, that I don't have any waterfalls.

Thanks John for the kind words. I'm certainly no expert at waterfalls but this is how I do it.

Use tripod, monopod, rock are whatever. I used a monopod.
Pick a slower shutter speed and take a shot. (This one was 1/2 second)
Review the shot and start making small adjustments to shutter speed, ISO and exposure.
Keep taking shots until you like what you see.

As far as PP I use Gimp and made small adjustments to levels, contrast, lightness and saturation. I made a small increase to the blue color to give the water a hint of color.

Hope this helps.

Carol, thank you very much. Many times when I go to Cedar Falls on New Years day it is an ice fall.
