Default close up b&w

hi all,
this is a close up i took of my son harvey the other day.
i wanted to put it in the critique section to see what is right and wrong about it. the reason i didnt post it in "critique" was i didnt need harsh judgement of it as a piece of photographic artwork, merely just wanting to know if it looks like i used the right settings to capture a good clear image of him. the moody look is on demand, he's only 5 and considers himself somewhat of a model lol

any advice is appreciated,
thanks, john

Congratulations John, you have a beautiful son and the close-up is very expressive and crisp, the B & W makes it very well. Harvey in the future could be an actor

Maybe just needed a bit of +ev - his light skin and the light background probably confused the metering a bit so it's come out a bit dark - the whites of the eyes are quite grey.

I think it came out very nice, a very handsome young man!

One suggestion, when you use flash, it casts a strong shadow on the wall behind the subjects, it will probably look better if he stood further away from the wall.

Dear John I reproduce here if you do not offend your beautiful image with a slight pp.
