Although this is a wonderful image of your lovely Lily, I only allowed to correct the levels in Photoshop (2 seconds of work), I suggest you check this too the next time.
Great photo John!

thanks catalex for the links, ive had a good read and will try and put that to some use. not that i understand the graphs very well lol. maybe i might get to this stage in my college course at some point and learn a lot more about pp and photoshop techniques. i find using computer programs like photoshop quite hard to pick up unless im shown how. unfotunately in a forum its hard to benefit fully from another's knowledge. but i'll keep trying.

youve turned my favourite picture into an even better one.

many thanks

john

Don't worry John, I also learned from the experiences of others, this is the spirit of this wonderful forum!
And again, congratulations on the little Princess.

Fitcip, there are loads of video tutorials on how to use photoshop so you can SEE how to use it best. I have watched quite a lot and learned from them as, like you, i learn better by watching than reading.
Your baby is gorgeous, love her big eyes but, if i may, i think a different pose would have brought out her beauty better. I look forward to seeing more of her so take those shots while she is still young.

My 2 cents on BnW

Try the Black and White adjustment layer in Ps with the Infrared Preset and try tweaking from there. It gives amazing results
