Default Zoom Bar stuck on 6X

I just bought the FZ10 yesterday. Brought it home, and began familiarizing myself with this beauty...While taking some shots, I noticed the zoom bar displayed in the LCD would not fall below 6X. I can't figure out why this is. Any suggestions?

On page 86 of the manual "Using the Conversion Lens".
a) in the menu under "rec", use the 4 way round cursor button
b) and push up once (12 o'clock spot) and your at CONVERSION
c) push right once (3 o'clock spot) and make sure its set to OFF
If not follow the arrows to set to 'off'.
When it is set for TELE the zoom range is set from 6x to 12x to prevent vignetting of pics below 6x.
