But how can you take a candid shot by asking the subject(s)?It will never look natural. Just don't try to portray somebody in anyway which looks disadvantageous, that is all.

The concept of humor (what is or isn't funny) and taste (as in acceptable vs. not acceptable) changes over time. What used to be funny back in the 50's today may sound silly or even stupid. The same applies to taste. Jokes that were acceptable back then, today may be considered bad taste and offensive. In most cases, the adaptation to the changes occur naturally as values change. However, every now and then we are faced with the dilemma...do I find this funny or offensive? What is the politically correct answer? There may not be one or we may not care whether there is one or not. Sometimes we should just follow and express our feelings as they come.

That's true! Leave the photograph out - I thoroughly enjoyed the comments and feedback on this thread. Thanks for starting this, Grounded.

But seriously, this has been a very interesting thread. I bet you ever expected to incite this much reaction.

Unfortunately, it does not take much to generate controversy. All one needs to say is..."what a nice day!"

Tullio it is not a "nice day", it is cold and the snow is going start in about 2 hours and continue until tomorow. So it is not a "nice day".

It is currently 70 deg outside, expected to go up to 75 by midday and it is bright and sunny here is Los Angeles. AND it is my day off so I'm grabbing my camera and I'm off. So it is a VERY nice day for me..
