Default coastal town of Broadstairs in Kent

today i popped over to Broadstairs, a few miles from where i live. its a popular town in the summer due to its lovely sandy beach and the shape and location make it a great little sun trap. also located at broadstairs is Bleak House, the summer home of famous novelist Charles Dickens. it was his summer home from 1837 to 1859 and is much the topic of tourist attraction in the area. you can see Bleak House on the landscape pic located on the hill near the center at the back, (the castle looking building). broadstairs is home to many festivals throughout the summer and is pretty much the place to be from june to september. the weather today was gorgeous so plentyof light for the fz100 to make use of. i hope you enjoy this series selected from the many i took there today.

regards
john

had to crop the seagull as the car park to the left of it was quite uninteresting lol (hence the noise, sorry)

Some nice shots, I think though you cropped to much of the bird shot, looks like a nice spring day.

Yeah. I know its over cropped. It was a spur of the moment shot. I was photographing a coast guard boat out to sea when that gull took off right next to me so i turned and snapped it. But the rest of the picture was car park and nothing interesting. Suppose i should have left it though

awww thanks carol. youre too kind. i knew it would lose a lot of its quality by cropping but the full pic really was a bit dull lol. i'll post it so you can all see what i mean
