Default Hawk - Sort Of Close

This guy lives at the Chicago Botanic Gardens and is not overly spooky. I was walking with a photographer friend who had not noticed him before so I pointed him out and then took this while she was enjoying him. This was converted from RAW, and it seems that for some shots the FZ150 overexposes a bit on the RAW compared to the JPEG type preview shot. But I liked it so processed it down a bit in Elements. TCON-17 used.

Nice one! Is it a Cooper's hawk?

Thanks saly, Alex, and jj. And jj, this is a Red-tailed Hawk.

What an alert look he is giving! Very nice shot, Steve. Several times I have thought of getting a TCON17, but with not much birds around, I have dropped the idea. Looks like it will be worth getting one if you get to see rare birds like this.

Thanks Raghu. I could have shot this with no tele converter as he was a friendly sort. But I do like that TCON-17. I did not have it when I used the FZ7, but it works well with other cameras listed in profile.
