I seem to end up with halos around buildings and trees, how do you avoid them?

i dont always gordy. ive worked out that this usually happens when the sky is lighter of blown out around a building. any white areas around a structure when overlaying tend to get enhanced, giving these pesky halos. i had one on the church spier, so i took the healing tool to it and softened it up on the lightest exposure.
