Default birds of prey cont...

a few more pics from my first of what i hope are many visits to the hawkery. hope you like these few shots.

harris hawk makes a return, along with a rather large European Eagle Owl. and one of their trained birds awaiting the trainer before wooing the crowd with his hunting skills.

weather permitting i may go back there tomorrow...

they have over 100 different species of hawks, falcons and accipiters, also some new world vultures many of which i didnt get to see because of the heavy rain. so hopefully the next visit will be fruitful.

regards,
john

Wow, what a great series, John. I'm a huge fan of raptors and you have some great shots. I was going to say #1 stands out, which is does, but looking at them again I can't single it out, they are all good. Well done.

Thanks Craig and Steve. I've honestly enjoyed photographing these birds and its great to see them being admired. I've got loads of shots of the eagle owl Steve. Might post a few separately. He was quite a character

Thanks carol. Was able to get pretty close to the eagle owl. About 10 feet away and she loved the attention lol

Great shots. The second is slightly OOF but perhaps the bird was in motion.

thanks jj, tullio and alex for your kind comments and compliments. a a couple were a little soft in focus as they were free hand and i had nothing to rest on or against. but this selection are the seconds and my favourites were in the first post. that said, numbers 1, 3 and 4 are going into my favourites folder as we speak

many thanks
john
