Default name of the saving folder

Does anybody know why my fz38 all of a sudden changes the name of the saving folder? (117_PANA to 118_PANA etc). There is no obvious reason...

Because you have shot 999 shots that began with the numbers 117 so now it moves to 118.

P1170999 was just shot. The next shot will be 1180001.

(edit) I think there was a time or two when the FZ35 changed the sequence before it was time. That I did not know why but figured it was a software glitch due to bumping the camera or turning off during a save or something.

Are you doing anything in the menus? There is a reset number there that will do something to them although I have not pushed it in years and don't remember what it does.

are you including burst shots. some images will be stored in sequence on the camera and have to be played to view, but once transferred they will become individual files. Steve is correct with his answer though. mine does it too. i think all panas do

G'day mate

You may have the frame-number reset [in tools/spanner] set to reset on each power 'off'

Regards, Phil
