Default FZ100 in New Orleans

The wife and I went to New Orleans last week. Here are a few pics from our trip. We were lucky to be there during Navy Week celebrating the 100th annivesary of the War of 1812.

St Louis Cathedral

Monument in Jackson Square

One US Destroyer (I toured the ship), one US Frigate, and one French Frigate (toured this ship also)

Three tall masted ships. One US (handed over to the US from the Germans after WWII) and two from two other countries.

River boat on the Mississippi and the sunset.

Sunset over the city.

Oil refinery

Military transport ships.

Nice collection of ships. Interesting we got a tall ship as a war prize in a modern war.

Steve, we actually got 2 of three tall ships from Germany as a war prize. Russia got the other one. We sold one of the ships to Brazil for the impressive price of $5,000. Brazil then sold the ship to Portugal who currently still operates the ship. These types of ships are used as training ships.
