This was just shot, right? If so, that means the first wave of returning Monarchs has reached Texas. Is the time typical for caterpillars?

In SWPA, we never see this stage until mid-Fall. It will be a couple of months before the first Monarchs are spotted.

hi roger, yes that was just shot. this is usually the time of year give or take a few weeks when we start seeing the monarch caterpillars. i've got 7 chrysalis's now that i am watching closely every day. if only i didn't have to work. i would love to catch them at those perfect moments!
