Default How to fix Wide Angle Skew??? FZ47

This is the only thing that frustrates me with the FZ's is the Wide angle skew. The skew is not a problem if you zoom past 2X. Is there any on line editing or other programs that can take the leaning skew from these type of shots?

After searching I did find a skew fix on Pixlr.com, did lose some image due to cropping but it took 90% of the skew problem out.

It looks like what this program did was the same as having the +2x zoom. It cropped a significant portion of the image all around.

G'day Oos99

Any camera - any lens when pointed up or down will display the skew effect you are talking about. Professionals will do one of two things to minimise it at exposure stage ... keep the film/focus-plane perfectly vertical &/or use a tilt & shift lens

For us - as "happy-snappers" we will need to do our best at the taking-photo stage then get some help from the software to square things up for us. Luckily just about every bit of software I have used in recent times will do this - some easily, some with a lot of fuss & bother

In PS Elements for example, there is a wonderful 'filter' gizmo called Correct-Camera-Distortion that makes it very, very easy

You might like to give it a try sometime
Regards, Phil
