Default FZ150 Discontinued?

B&H Photo shows the FZ 150 as discontinued? Does that mean a new model is on the way ?

Not always. If a model has been proved to be very good and is discontinued, there is clamour for the available stock which actually pushes the price up.

Raghu- that can happen- though usually if the next model isn't as good.
Let's hope it is a worthy successor (if rumours are correct...).

Wow! Maybe I'm glad I didn't get the 150; be interesting to see if a new one is coming; I would say so, if the 150 is discontinued!

Yeah, let's hope the successor model is better - so the customer can go either for the better model or for 150 at a better price!

Who knows what Panasonic have up there sleeve- however,if a successor to the FZ-150 is in the pipeline (pure speculation at present,of course...) it's going to have to be a pretty darn fine camera.
As an "all in one" the FZ-150 had no weaknesses...
Well built, good IQ by "bridge" standards, good range of movie options, fast AF speeds and continuous modes, great zoom range (if not class leading),sensible resolution....etc...
Tough act to follow....
My guess is the zoom will increase,as will the resolution....but would this improve the camera...??

Didn't they reduce the resolution in a camera from 14 to 12 to give better photos for the sensor? i think that's right from memory.
If so why push up the resolution but i guess they want a bigger zoom to compete with the canons and sony.

eysha- you're right- they did decrease the resolution- and indeed was the right move.
My money would still be on them increasing the resolution again- fearful of being left behind in the numbers game- especially with Sony now up to 18mp...!!
Let's see if Panny' have got the bottle to hold back the resolution for the sake of IQ....
