Default Gliders and Saddlebags (dragonflies)

We are having a bit of heat and lots of dragonflies have blown into town. Seriously. 40 plus mile per hour gusts today, so if any of these are not sharp enough blame it on the wind blowing the branches around.

FZ150, and TCON-17 used for the first two shots below.

Red Saddlebags - male.

and female.

A Wandering Glider in front and two Spot-winged Gliders in back.

Wandering Glider close up. If I cared I could clone out that stick, but I don't usually alter nature shots that way.

And a Spot-winged Glider. These are one of my favorites.

Three Spot-winged Gliders.

Those Wandering Gliders can fly non-stop across the ocean. They are called the most highly evolved dragonflies. I would not know about that, but they are fun to watch when a fleet of them blows in.

Those are really nice shots, Steve. I've never seen so many dragons at the same time!

Thanks for all your comments folks and ladies. This is a very good year for dragonflies and I am enjoying myself.
