Default monarchs? mitsy and an ugly caterpillar

hey all~ still nothing on my monarch chrysalis's. i'm pretty sure the one under the window sill is dead. can that happen? the one's on the fence keep getting darker and darker, but is seems like they should have transformed by now

mitsy is quite talkative

this guy (or gal) was on our Pequin pepper plant. i actually thought it was leaves at first glance. this sucker is huge like 4 inches.

Yes Mary, a wasp can lay eggs in them I am led to believe, but surely you have more than one, you can move them you know, tie a bit of thread round that bit at the top and hang them behind a sunny window. good luck.

That is a fine caterpillar. They will eat tomato plants also if you run out of leaves on the peppers. I hope at least one Monarch emerges for you, preferably while you are there to see it.
