Default FZ 40 Advanced Scene Mode

I'm have trouble understanding how I get to the setting of "Advanced Scene Mode". Pressing up/down on the 4 mode control simply brings up the EV, etc., rather than the advanced scene mode. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Carol. I don't have that model, but would think scene modes would be accessed by spinning the wheel on top of the camera as that is where I have always accessed what I t think you are talking about on the FZs I have owned.

Hi Steve; yes they are; however, in the manual, it says you can:

1. Set the mode dial (that's what is on top of the camera)
2. Press up/down to select the Advanced Scene Mode

Number 2 is where I cannot access the "advanced scene modes" in any of the specialized portrait, landscape, etc. Rather going up & down simply brings up the EV settings, etc.

I figured it out! When you go to one of the specialized modes; you have to press the menu/set button to bring up the other features.

Geeze, do I feel dumb!

Glad you figured it out and feel dumb on your own so I am not the cause of it. There are lots of things with all my FZs that made me feel dumb when I finally realized what they were for, etc.

Well, the instructions in the manual were not in the right order. It said to press the up/down first, then the menu/set. It's the opposite.

I have always had good amounts of trouble with those manuals.
